PLEASE NOTE: This blade has the bevel down (BD) which means the cutting edge will slide along the substrate, instead of cutting into it. Bevel Down blades can be used to remove flooring from sensitive surfaces like wood, plastic and vinyl, and won’t scratch or gouge the surface when used correctly. This blade is most commonly used on a walk behind or riding floor scraper to safely remove carpet and VCT from wood floors.
These angled self-scoring wing-tipped blades are tough and long-lasting. Made using National’s patented blade-hardening process, they perform up to 10 times longer than competing side-cutting blades. They work on double stick carpet, attached cushion, unitary or secondary backing, vinyl back, soft to medium PVC, linoleum, carpet tiles, soft cork, enhancer, and unibond hot melts.
The 8″ wide 6265-BD side-cutting floor scraper blade is 3″ deep x 8″ wide x .094″ thick. It’s designed to cut a path through soft sheet floor coverings (carpet, vinyl, linoleum, rubber etc) and can be used with all models of Ride-on Floor Scrapers. It can also be used effectively with larger self-propelled walk behind floor scrapers that weigh atleast 300lbs. Walk behind scrapers lighter than 300lbs may not be powerful enough to push this blade through tough flooring.
The 90 Degree angle on the sides of this blade allows it to remove flooring flat up against walls, concrete pillars and furniture/permanent fixtures.
