Description
These extremely hard, high-abrasion alloy blades are designed for tough tear-up floors & coatings. They work exceptionally well on VCT, VAT, wood, stone tile, carpet tiles, lighter ceramic, paver tiles, Chattahoochee rock, re-scraping thinset, all carpets, cork, elastomeric coatings, and re-scraping rubber and urethane coatings. The hardness and thickness of this blade family allows them to hold sharp edges extremely well.
Because they are so thick, these blades last a long time and can be resharpened 200-300% more than a typical blade. Their thickness also makes them less likely to damage or crack when run into concrete seems or concrete/steel protrusions from the substrate (nails, bolts etc). While it is not recommended, these blades can often be used to sheer off the top of unwanted bolts, nails, and carpet stapes in the floor- allowing the machine operator to remove the flooring and bolt head in a single pass.
The 6″ wide 6271 Extra thick flat blade is 3″ deep x 6″ wide x .250″ thick. At 1/4″ thick, this is the thickest steel blade on the market, and is created specifically for scraping up the hardest coatings (epoxy, hard thinset, asphalt etc.) It’s most effective when used with Ride-on Floor Scrapers that weigh 2,900lbs or more. It also does an excellent job scraping thin-set and glued ceramic.
