Rider Blades for VCT, Carpet Squares, Mastic, Glue
When it comes to taking up “soft goods” (VCT, carpet, mastic etc.) our focus is on removal rates and maximum glue removal. To this end, all Renegade® Ride-On floor scrapers have a front end that enables the user to adjust the height and pitch separately. We do this because, as your blade edge starts to wear, increasing the pitch can stretch out the production periods between re-sharpening. This unique front end, combined with a patented swiveling blade holder, will mean that you’re stopping, hopping over the material, and in general re-starting less frequently than with other riders. It will also mean you get more glue up and can use a wider blade, because the angle of your back tires will not affect the blade contact on the floor.
For most VCT, Carpet Squares, Mastic and Glue removal, a standard flat blade (from 6 inches to 27 inches wide depending on the slab) will be all you need. Plan on two passes, although many floors will only need one. For battery Rider units, this is the lightest work you will do with them so assume battery life and wheel speed will be maximized.
